Chief Adjudicator : Logan

Logandran Balavijendran is a former Worlds Octofinalist & Top 20 Speaker, Australs Finalist & Top 5 speaker, and Asian Champion & Best Speaker. He was Chief Adjudicator of Worlds (2005) and Australs (2003) hosted in MMU Malaysia. He was also the Deputy Chief Adjudicator at the All-Asians (2004), North East Asian Championships (2008 & 9), Asian BP Championships (2009) and United Asians Championships (2010). He has also served as secretary of the WUDC executive and President and Vice-President of AIDA. He currently teaches Debate, Public Speaking and Business Communication at Chung Ang University in Seoul, South Korea.

Chief Internal Adjudicator
Pearl Mathumo is currently working as a PR and Communications Executive for Botswana Export Development and Investment authority. She has significant debating experience both locally and abroad, having attended the worlds and the SADC. In 2007 Pearl, was a quarter finalist at the SADC. She was a finalist judge at both the first and second Pan African Debating champions and has also judged at the South Africans Schools

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Deputy Chief Adjudicator : James Dray

James was Worlds Champion in 2009 in Cork, Finalist in 2007 in Vancouver and Worlds Masters Champion in 2008 in Thailand. He has also been on the Adjudication panel of many prestigious tournaments, including being CA of the Paris IV 2007, Cambridge IV 2008, Oxford Schools 2008, National Law Debates Gallway 2009 and DCA for the Oxford IV's in both 2008 and 2007.
James graduated from KwaZulu-Natal University in South Africa, obtained his Masters of Philosophy in Politics at Oxford and is currently reading for a Doctorate at the same institution.

Deputy Chief Adjudicator : Tim Jeffries

Currently of Monash University, Tim is a former Grand Finalist at Worlds (2008) and is the current Australs Champion, and 3rd ranked debater in Australasia. He is a former winner of Melbourne Mini (2007), ADAM (2005 and 2007), a runner-up at the Australian British Parliamentary Debating Championships (2006), and a semi-finalist at WUPID (2007), and Australian Easters (2005). He recently served as a DCA for Australian Easters in Queensland and was the Chief Adjudicator of the 2008 Melbourne Mini. He will be the Deputy Chief Adjudicator at Auckland Australs in 2010.

And yes, the hair is natural.

Deputy Chief Adjudicator : Anat Gelber

 

Anat is a former Worlds best ESL speaker (2006), and twice Euros best ESL speaker (2003, 2005).  She won and/or topped the tab of the Israeli National Championship in Hebrew and English several times. As an adjudicator she has been DCA for Koc Euros, and CA or DCA of various international tournaments, including the Amsterdam Open, Istanbul Open, Yeditepe Open and many others. Today, Anat works as a lecturer at the “Zakai institute for Rhetoric” and teaches public speaking at Sapir Academic College in Sderot. She also coaches the debate teams of Ben-Gurion University and the Technion.

She lives in Haifa with her Pug, Pashkavile, and her fiancé.

Deputy Chief Adjudicator : Richard Lizius

 

 

Richard Lizius is currently studying Law at the University of Toronto, having recently graduated with a degree in politics from the same institution. He is a two time world's quarter finalist, was 9th speaker at Assumption Worlds and joint 2nd speaker at KoC Worlds. He is a two time Canadian Champion, two time Canadian top speaker and is the current North American top speaker. He is the current champion and top speaker of the Yale IV. He has won nine tournaments in North America, been a grand finalist at eight, and top speaker at fifteen. He has been CA of the Hart House IV twice and will CA the Canadian British Parliamentary Championships this year.
